Capsule Endoscopy now available
Dr. Mackler is now performing capsule endoscopy which is used to evaluate the small intestine. This part of the bowel cannot be reached by traditional upper endoscopy or by colonoscopy. The most common reason for doing capsule endoscopy is to search for a cause of bleeding from the small intestine. It may also be useful for detecting polyps, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease), ulcers, and tumors of the small intestine.
Direct Access Colonoscopy Coming Soon
Dr. Mackler will soon be offering patients the opportunity to schedule a colonoscopy without a prior office visit. This service is often referred to as direct or open access colonoscopy. Direct access colonoscopy will be offered at the Seaford Endoscopy Center for patients who are not currently experiencing any digestive problems and have little to no other medical problems. Additional information for patients will be available soon.
